Chelmsford Karate is not just about learning karate. It is a place of friendship. A place to find and meet new friends that share the same interests as you. Chelmsford Karate welcomes anyone who wants to meet new friends and train with like minded people. We practise traditional Okinawan Goju Ryu, which focuses on effective close-quarters fighting. We enjoy tournaments, but believe that the true heart of karate is self defence. Our instructors include Police Officers who have used their skills on the streets many times.
We run separate classes for children, so we can focus the training on their specific needs. With their Karate they will develop strength, coordination, stamina, balance and flexibility but will also train you mentally, improving self-awareness, discipline, confidence, self respect and respect for others.
Karate is for everyone and you are never too old. We teach students of all ages, male and female. Beginners are always welcome, as are students from other associations.
You do not need to have a good level of fitness when you start. Our training is built around the abilities of the individual.
The club is very friendly and positive place to train. We respect and encourage each other.
Come and join us at our new Beginners training classes, where the class will be geared toward teaching the basic skills of Karate in a fun and relaxed environment. The beginners classes are in the first week of every month, at the usual times & places
Chelmsford Karate holds one competition a year for its Junior students. However as part of the GKI. Each year all the clubs come together for the annual national tournament. The national tournament brings together clubs from all over the UK. Each student partaking has the chance to win a trophy or a medal.
